Welcome to Vernon OAK Learning Society!

At Vernon OAK, we’re passionate about creating opportunities for children to explore, discover, and grow. While our enrichment programs are still in development, our mission is clear: to help kids develop curiosity, practical skills, and confidence through hands-on learning experiences.

“OAK” captures the heart of our philosophy: Observe – Absorb – Know. We believe children learn best when they can explore, ask questions, and engage directly with the world around them. Even before our workshops launch, we’re building a community where kids and families can discover new possibilities together.

Our Workshops

Workshops will be led by local subject-matter experts such as naturalists, gardeners, outdoor educators, and other community leaders.

Our classes emphasize hands-on, experiential learning, giving children the opportunity to explore new interests, build practical skills, and grow in confidence through doing.

Workshop topics may include:

  • Mindfulness and wellness for kids
  • Outdoor skills
  • Gardening and foraging
  • Wildlife and ecology
  • Building and practical life skills
  • Money skills and budgeting
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Cultural knowledge and storytelling

A Place for Curious Learners

Our workshops are designed primarily for homeschooled and homeschool-curious children, while also welcoming students from local schools who want hands-on learning experiences during the day. By bringing together children from different educational paths, we aim to create a supportive environment where curiosity, creativity and friendships can grow.

Coming Soon
